Artist's book of Sam Samiee,Footnotes to Life, has contributions from Dr. Gohar Homayounpour (author of Doing Psychoanalysis in Tehran, 2012), Founder of the Freudian Group of Tehran; Dr. Sumayya Kassamali, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies at the University of Toronto; and Benno Tempel, Director of the Kunstmuseum, Den Haag. The book is a compilation of selected exhibitions as well as essays and images from different periods of Samiee's artistic and research practices. The substantial notes follow multiple fronts charted in Samiee's research, from the history of painting to the history of Persian poetry and psychoanalytic theory.
